Semi-Hydro Mix [Coarse & Fine]

Brilliant! Moved a little homegrown alocasia frydek into semi-hydro, i’ve previously never been able to keep them alive for long in soil and this one is thriving in its new home with slow release fertiliser. Super!

I love semihydro. All my plants are in this substrate. The fine is great for delicate root systems and the coarse is great for chunky roots. I also love your packaging and would recommend anyone to try your products.

They asked me to write a review on, what, after all, is a bag of small stones... semi-hydro mix. Of course, it is more than that, but in terms of reviewing it what more is there to say about it? This is my first time trying my plants in 'pon'/semi-hydro, and I've only repotted one plant so far in it, which was a few days ago. But based on that, I think I prefer working with proper soil substrates rather than stones. But now I've put this one plant, Philodendron Florida Green, in semi-hydro mix, I don't want to double shock the poor thing by switching back to soil:(three stems with a leaf on each, snapped off at the base in the repotting process (when washing the soil off the roots),and there were only seven leaves to start with.) So I'm leaving it to recover, just watering as necessary, and monitoring it closely. I do feel, personally, that plant care is more of a science than a pleasure, switching to semi-hydro. There is so much more to have to consider, like testing PH water levels, specific fertilisers, clear pots for observation, algae growth (replacing fungus gnats, which can only be a blessing, I guess.) Soil Ninja has information on all this, which tells you on the packaging, with a link to their website pages. I have a lot of confidence in this company from my own experience and my trusted planty You Tube content creators, and I'm hoping my Florida Green survives and thrives in semi-hydro, too.
