Using a Blend of:
Coco Coir, Horticultural Sand, Grit, Pumice, Lava Rock, Worm Castings

About the Cacti & Succulent Soil Mix:
This soil contains a range of non-porous materials to create a fast draining mix that does not stay wet for long. The high portion of Sand and Grit in the mixture means the majority of water flows right through the pot to through the holes at the bottom. However our Coco Coir, Pumice and Lava Rock in the mixture will hold onto just enough water for the plant to absorb in the short time that the blend stays wet for.

What Cacti and Succulents want from their soil:
These types of plant generally want one thing – for the majority of the time to be in completely dry substrate. However, when it comes to your watering we recommend you properly drench them. In the wild these plants are used to huge downpours of rain, followed by the land becoming dry quickly after a few days. We have formulated this mix to simulate this wet-dry cycle. In general we recommend water every 2/3 weeks only in the Summer months. Spring and Autumn should be about once a month, and not at all in winter.

Ideal For: (See our Houseplant Soil Guide)

Fantastic as usual!

I find this mix to be really good. Previously, I grew all my Mesembs and Succulents in 100% Pumice. Gibbaeum and Faucaria didn’t like the 100% Pumice. Since I changed to the Cacti and Succulent mix, all the plants seem to be happy!

I actually use this for my outdoor Sempervivums. I mix the soil 50:50 with coarse grit. It works a treat.

This is a premium soil designed for a specific group of plants; it’s a high-end product from a good brand, with a premium price tag to match. We’ll see how the plants fare in this substrate. I’ll be able to say more in a year.

I am pleased with the quality of the compost for cacti and succulents. It is well draining and time will tell how the plants will grow.

Potted my euphorbias and opuntia cactus up in this, as well as some little string of hearts cuttings. It's been about a month so far and they all seem very happy, string of hearts has pushed out so much growth already. Be advised that the bag is very, very heavy compared to most soil bags as it is a very sandy mix.

First time ordering from Soil Ninja and only just repotted my snake plants into this mix so too soon to tell if they will thrive in this substrate but it seems to be a good gritty mix with no long coco coir fibres like other products

I buy fresh soils every year for my 9 plants and they thrive on the yearly refresh and roott trim. Soil ninja has the perfect mixes it’s just a shame the packaging is a heavy plastic. Could it not be wax cored brown paper ?
